Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice dating back thousands of years.
It involves the insertion of thin solid needles into points on the body and has been used to improve health and help in the treatment of many different conditions.
Acupuncture offers a unique approach to treatment and is a safe and effective method of facilitating pain relief and improving function.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is different from traditional Chinese acupuncture and involves the insertion of an acupuncture needle into tender ‘Trigger Points’ within muscles which are associated with pain and injury.
Needling of these ‘Trigger Points’ is an effective way or relieving pain and improving function and most patients can tolerate the treatment with minimal discomfort.
At Physio Effect our therapists are highly skilled in the use of acupuncture and dry needling techniques for the treatment of many different conditions including neck pain, back pain, headaches, shoulder and elbow pain, hip and leg pain, knee pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.
